Introduction
Kalmer Counselling know that school staff seeing and knowing children are using self-harm as a coping strategy of feeling like they no longer want to live can be very worrying. We can feel out of our depth and not equipped enough to support the children we work with. This training will help to support you, build your confidence and educate you in the best approaches to use when working with children and young people who are struggling.

- Support staff, teaching assistants
- School outreach workers
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Understand more about self-harm and suicide
- Be aware of the hard-hitting statistics and explore the general risk factors
- Exploring different interventions and strategies to support these children
- Discuss ways in which we can talk about self-harm and suicidal ideation
- Take part in clinical case discussion
