Course description
Introduction
Planned, professional supervision and case discussion are at the heart of safe and effective decision-making. Our consultants are able to provide supportive supervision sessions to SEND and Inclusion staff, including SENCO's, Support Staff and SEND Trust Leads. SEND supervision sessions are tailored to the individual, providing a safe and structured environment in which to reflect, discuss, and problem solve to enable staff to carry out their role effectively. The sessions are discussion-based and can operate with an agreed agenda or can be flexible and led by the needs of the staff member.
Sessions may focus on:
- Targeted support for SENCos
- Targeted support for support staff, such as Teaching Assistants working with children with complex needs
- Exploring decision-making processes for individual cases
- Identifying challenges/barriers and finding solutions
- Identifying good practice
- Reflective practice and discussion
- Staff wellbeing
Sessions are voluntary and confidential. The aim is to empower SEND staff to feel confident in relfecting on their role and equipping them to respond to stress and overwhelm.
