Introduction
Employers are required to take appropriate steps, including training, to reduce the risk of injury to employees who carry out any manual handling activities at work
The qualification is designed for those who carry out manual handling at work and provides essential information about associated risks, hazards and control measures
Attendees: This training is suitable for:
- Any person who undertakes signicant manual handling in the workplace
Syllabus
A range of subjects are covered including:
- The benefits of safe manual handling
- Manual handling risk assessments and their benefits
- The principles of safe movement during manual handling
- Types of equipment available to reduce injury risk during manual handling
- Applying safe manual handling principles
Certification
A Level 2 Award in Manual Handling Principles & Practice will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. First Aid Awards Ltd (FAA) are a Ofqual regulated awarding organisation
Length of session: Half day (7 hours including 1/2 hour lunch + two 15 minute breaks)
