Course description
Introduction
The aim of this training is to support practitioners to understand what is meant by child abuse and neglect, how to recognise common signs of abuse and how to act if you have concerns about children's care or safety. The session will also outline how to keep yourself safe, by ensuring you follow your school's code of conduct. This is in line with the requirements of Annex C of the EYFS.
Attendees
This training is suitable for :
- Early Years Practitioners (including new staff)
- Early Years Managers
- Early Years Support Staff including admin, kitchen staff, cleaning staff, caretaker
Learning outcomes:
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Understand the definition of safeguarding
- Exploring key legislation
- Your safeguarding role and responsibilities
- Exploring specific safeguarding issues
- The importance of record keeping
- Whistleblowing and allegations against staff
- Exploring how to keep yourself safe
