About the Event

Robust recruitment practices are essential in the deterrent and prevention of unsuitable people from working with children and young people in any organisation that provides services to them. 

This session aims to refresh delegates knowledge and skills through discussion around recruitment and the selection processes, the provision of statutory requirements and the sharing of best practice. 

This is a refresher session, therefore delegates will be expected to have attended training in this area previously.

Attendees:

This training is suitable for Managers, directors, board members and any staff who have responsibility for any aspect of recruitment and selection to roles which have contact with children and young people.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Share changes in legislation and best practice.
  • Identify the key features of staff recruitment that help deter or prevent the appointment of unsuitable people.
  • Consider policies and practice that minimise opportunities for abuse or ensure its prompt reporting.
