Session Description
Introduction
Ensuring children are safe during mealtimes is a vital responsibility in early years settings. This Safe Eating Workshop is designed to support early years practitioners with the knowledge and confidence needed to promote safe eating practices, reduce the risk of choking, and respond appropriately to emergencies, in line with statutory guidance.
The workshop will explore age-appropriate food preparation, supervision strategies, allergy awareness, and current guidance on safe eating for babies and young children. Through practical examples and discussion, staff will strengthen their understanding of how to create a safe, positive mealtime environment that supports children's health, wellbeing and development.
