Introduction
This session explores what we mean by the term personal care and the reasons why children and young people may require short-term or long-term personal care. It aims to give an overview of the different types of personal care which may be required, such as toileting, feeding, washing and dressing. We will outline the duties placed on settings to ensure that policy and practice enable settings to provide personal care support safely.
