About this Event

Wednesday 4th February Agenda

This is a new network which will focus on issues particularly relevant to safegaurding leads in specialist settings such as specialist schools, alternative provisions, resourced provisions, pupil referral units and other settings working with children with special educational needs.

  1. Introductions: what and who (10 minutes)
  2. What do you need from this network? Group discussion to share ideas (15 minutes)
  3. Strategic overview - What's New? (15 minutes) Safeguarding updates and emerging themes within specialist education 
  4. Guidance on the use of reasonable force and restrictive intervention: Reflection on potential impact in specialist settings (20 minutes)
  5. Operation support - opportunity to share good practice, practical ideas and resources (5 minutes)
  6. Next steps - agenda items. Group discussion (15 minutes)
  7. Next meeting: Wednesday 13th May 2026 1:45 pm - 3:15 pm
