Course description
Introduction
On occasion schools will be faced with dealing with children and young people who are struggling both in and out of the school setting. This support package is designed to be flexible and offers a bespoke approach to help children and young people identify their strengths and challenges and develop tools and strategies to overcome these challenges.
The support provides a dedicated member of CES staff to work directly with the child and to act as an advocate
This sessions are suitable for children and young people who are:
- Vulnerable learners
- Hard to reach
- Struggling to keep themselves safe (school, online, community)
- Struggling to access their learning
- Receiving suspensions or repeated internal sanctions
- Experiencing friendship issues
Aims
- Identify and address barriers to engagement and learning
- Develop and implement strategies to overcome barriers
- Improve engagement with learning and a desire for progress
- Support the child to make safe choices
- Improve self-esteem, confidence and resilience
- Support to identify and benefit from healthy relationships
- Support to express their needs in a safe way
